We have received an official e-mail from Minister Verity Firth.
Thanking us for our ongoing concerns about marine parks in NSW.
The Minister also points out following the meeting we attended in her office (August 20), that her Policy Adviser, Amy Persson has had follow up discussions to advise us on current situation's.
What a joke, we are still waiting for information we were told we would have within 2 week's of our meeting.
The last time Amy Persson spoke to me, she spent more time telling me that they were finding comments that had been posted on sosnews.org very harmful, and were not helping our relationship.
Minister Firth, asked us to be aware of the appointment of Dr Brendan Kelaher as manager of the Batemans marine Park and suggested we refer to him on all issues.
We have just finished a 2 Hour meeting with him and NPWS Tim Shepard (More on that later).
Minister Firth then refers to Professor Kearney's paper, saying that many scientists disagree with his views?

? who are they and where are they and what is their qualifications?

?.
The Minister then refers to the 'consensus statement's' a paper that has already been totally pulled apart.
Minister Firth also Say's "We are faced with a range of degraded marine environments, increasing populations using coastal waters and resources, and climate change stressing the resilience of our marine ecosystems'.
Is the minister saying that by having marine parks that climate change will stop or reverse?

??
This is just the starter there is much more to follow, be assured of that.
